I started Autism, ADHD and Us Three in January 2024. As a late-diagnosed autistic and ADHD adult and parent, I knew how isolating and overwhelming it can feel when you're only just starting to understand your own neurodivergence, and I wanted a space for honest, relatable conversations about it. A place to share what was happening for me, connect with other people and dig into the complicated bits of being a neurodivergent adult and parent.
So much of what I've learned about myself has come from hearing other people's stories, and that's what I hope the podcast gives you: connection, validation and practical ideas you can actually use. It's also why it makes room for other neurodivergent people and advocates to tell theirs, and to push back on the outdated stereotypes about autism and ADHD that so many of us grew up with.
I also wanted somewhere to talk about parenting neurodivergent kids in the way that works for your whole family, rather than the way we've been conditioned to, full of anxiety and shame.
Most importantly, it's for us. For adults working out who they are after a late diagnosis, for parents supporting neurodivergent kids, and for anyone who has ever felt they didn't quite fit. It's about building a community, finding some joy, and being honest about how messy neurodivergent life really is.
